Hamilton County Resources

Hamilton County Development is offering grant funds for the purpose of increasing tourism, and enhancing the quality of life for residents of Blairsburg, Jewell, Kamrar, Stanhope, Stratford, Randall, Ellsworth, and Williams (excluding Webster City because they have the same program for Webster City residents).

Grant requests must reflect one or more of the following for physical improvement or advertisement:

  1. Direct promotion of Hamilton County, its attributes, events, or attraction of visitors to the county.
  2. Construction and/or enhancements of tourism, infrastructure, amenities, or attractions in Hamilton County
  3. Other tourism enhancements that will bring visitors to Hamilton County

Who may apply?

The program will accept applications from public and private organizations located in rural areas of Hamilton County, Iowa that demonstrate the ability to complete proposed projects within a time frame and have a project that falls within the program funding scope.

Grant Cycle

Grant applications are accepted from the beginning of February.  Actual dates will be announced each year. Award letters will be mailed out in mid-March of each grant cycle.

Receive up to 30% of project cost.

Who can apply? If you’re a current business owner with a Jewell address and have been in business for at least one year, you’re eligible! We also ask that applicants make a partner investment in JADE before they apply and reinvest the following year.

What kinds of projects are eligible? We’re looking for projects that bring a new service or product line to Jewell. The JADE grant committee will review all proposals.

How much can I get? The maximum award is $1,000. Please note that eligibility requires a one-to-one match of the grant funds received.

How does it work? Funds are available on a reimbursement basis only. This means you’ll make the purchases or complete the work first, and then we’ll reimburse you upon approval and submission of receipts. Work or purchases made before your grant approval are not covered.
